About me

I was born in Romania and I fell in love with India’s spiritual tradition in my early twenties, while living in London. During my time in India, I had a life-transforming Vedic Astrology reading that sparked the desire to learn more about this old and sacred science of divination.

Upon moving to the United States, I was very lucky to meet a Vedic Astrology teacher that was part of an authentic Jyotish lineage (the lineage of K.L. Mantri and Hart deFouw) and become his student.

I am also trained as an Ayurvedic practitioner, which helps me address health and healing with my astrology clients on a deeper level (Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India; to find out more about Ayurveda click here).

I also hold an MA in Finance from the University of North London and worked in the financial industry in London for several years prior to training as a Vedic astrologer and Ayurvedic practitioner.

My Teachers

I have been very fortunate to meet wonderful teachers both in the field of Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) and health/healing.

Both Jyotish and Ayurveda are sacred sciences that have been passed down through generations from teacher to student. The various lineages practice these sciences slightly differently, but they are equally powerful, no matter what the particular style and flavor of the lineage.

However, it is not easy in our day and age to find a teacher that is connected to one of the ancient lineages. These days, too much of the transmission of knowledge is superficial, via the internet, coming from dubious sources. The lineages are breaking down and slowly disappearing.

This is why I feel extremely blessed to have encountered a genuine lineage and an authentic teacher in the person of Steven Highburger, from Vedic Traditions. Steven is a highly accomplished and experienced astrologer with a deep love for Vedic Astrology and all other Vidyas (Vedic Sciences). Steven is part of the lineage brought to the western world by K.L. Mantri, a renowned Jyotishi, whose top student, Hart deFouw spent 15 years by his side, absorbing the knowledge, before passing it down to my teacher, Steven Highburger.

I met my spiritual teacher, Ammachi (Amma), while living in London. I then spent almost 3 years traveling with her and living on and off in her ashram in India.

Out of all the teachers I met during this lifetime, I feel the deepest gratitude for Amma, who has incessantly guided, supported and inspired me to become a better person.

Also known as the Hugging Mother, Ammachi is the most personally available spiritual leader of our time. She has spent all her life meeting and embracing all those who come to see her, alleviating the pain of the suffering, inspiring, uplifting and transforming the world around her, one hug at a time. Amma’s hugs are far from ordinary – they transmit the energy of pure, unconditional love, something that words cannot begin to describe. Personally, meeting Amma and receiving her hug was the most healing and transformative experience I have had in this lifetime. It is estimated that Amma has embraced over 33 million people to date.

Amma is also the founder of the humanitarian organization Embracing the World – an international organization run entirely by volunteers, inspired by Amma’s example of selfless service. Each of its many projects has been initiated in response to the needs of the world’s poor who have come to unburden their hearts to Amma and cry on her shoulder. Through all that she does, Amma is tirelessly showing the world that a life of unconditional love and selfless service is indeed possible.
